Hits: The lipstick is gorgeous! The packaging is heavy with a magnetic closure and the formula is very creamy and pigmented. The matte blush in the blush duo is probably one of the most gorgeous matte blushes I've seen in a long time! It is very creamy and pigmented as well. The lip gloss is more like a liquid lipstick! It is the exact same color as the lipstick, but with tiny gold shimmer. The lightest color in the eyeshadow quad is so buttery and smooth!
Misses: The eyeliner is dry and tugs on your eye when applying. As much as I love the look of the Prisma Chrome blush, it is very chalky and powdery. The same goes for the designed side of the blush duo. I find it powdery and chalky as well. The eyeshadow quad is a let down. The two darkest shades aren't very pigmented at all. I had to pack it on for the swatches. The tangerine eyeshadow again, is chalky and powdery.
Enjoy the swatches!

I just discovered your blog, and these swatches are so helpful! definitely going to pass on the set for now and just get the lipstick and lipgloss. thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!! I'm glad you found my blog and I'm really glad it was helpful! I hope you like the lipstick and gloss!
DeleteI like the lipstick although I would probably never wear it...I do that all the time with lipsticks for some reason! Cute packaging and I love the idea of an entire "Color Of The Year" set!
ReplyDeleteYou can tone the lipstick down so it's not as bold. I really like it. The rest of the set is pretty iffy. I wouldn't recommend anything besides the lip products and the blush duo (and I only like one side of the duo). I heard they will be doing these sets for every season....but I don't know if that's true. We will see!
ReplyDeleteWow, this set is awesome! I do love this Tangerine color of the year! I tried to comment back on your other comment about where you live... ok, I live in College Station, TX and I lived in Michigan for 22 years! Where in Michigan did you live? I am from MIdland, but then I lived in Grand Rapids/Holland area for 4 years.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the raw food journey, I love the pictures you post, it is helpful to see what you are eating giving us an idea of where to start, sometimes thinking up what to eat is half the battle! So thank you very much for the photos! :)
Hey Laura! I grew up just outside of Ann Arbor! My sister went to college in Grand Rapids, so I used to go there often! I'm glad you like the food photos. Eating raw isn't easy. I think it will be better once we move and I have access to local produce. The selection here is limited and half the time things are going bad and it just turns my stomach. Also, it's so hard to be active here. There is still a lot of snow on the ground. It will be easier when I don't spend 99% of my time indoors! xoxo
DeleteYes, it will be much easier when you move to get fresh produce, plus the weather is so nice year almost year round it makes it easy to go outside and be active, in fact, sometimes I look forward to a dreary day so it gives me some excuse to stay inside and relax!!haha!
DeleteI can't imagine how hard it must be to be eating completely raw, I applaud you! Keep up the good work! Have you noticed a difference in weight/energy level/mood?
what is full size in the kit?? mine should arrive tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteEverything is full-size!
