Sephora by OPI "Going nude, eh?" swatched and compared to 6 other nude polishes!

I have 7 nude polishes in my collection and to be honest, they all look terrible on me.  They are all either too yellow, too gray, too pink, too brown.  I am still on the hunt for that perfect nude (if it's out there).  Here are swatches of my nude polishes.  They are all very different, although some of them look similar in the bottles.

Sephora by OPI "Going nude, eh" and Sally Hansen "Without a stitch" gave me horrible corpse hands.  It's bad!  Sally Hansen "Malt" looks the best on me out of the 7 nude polishes I have.  I also like OPI "Samoan Sand", but I think it would look better if my skin tone were a shade darker.   Essie "Topless and Barefoot isn't bad on me either, but I have such a hard time getting it to not look streaky!  The application on both Orly polishes were also very streaky and difficult to build up.  I am not a fan of sheer polishes, so those both get a thumbs down from me.  I don't wear nail polish if I really have to work at getting it to apply nicely.  I hope this helps you!

NOTD: OPI Holiday Glow

OPI Holiday Glow was part of the 2009 Holiday Wishes Winter collection.  I am in love with this.  It was streaky to apply and needed 2 coats (I used 3)....but worth it.  It dried pretty fast, which was nice. It's a brown base polish with red and gold glitters that really "glow".  Pictures don't really capture it's beauty!  You have to see it with your own eyes to really appreciate it.  It's pretty unique in my book.  I have nothing similar at all in my collection.  Enjoy!

My Favorite Fall Perfume/scents!

(L to R) Tom Ford Black Orchid, Fresh Cannabis Santal, Lolita Lempicka Si Lolita, Leslie Blodgett Santa Barbara

When it comes to fragrances in the fall, I always gravitate towards warm, spicy, even peppery scents.  These four perfumes blow me away.  My husband goes nuts when I wear the Tom Ford Black Orchid or the Lolita Lempicka Si Lolita.  If you like warm, spicy and peppery scents.....give these a try next time you are in Sephora.  I am listing the notes below.  You will see some similiarities (especially the notes in Black orchid and Cannabis Santal).  Fresh Cannabis Santal might be a less expensive alternative to Black Orchid!

Tom Ford Black Orchid
Notes:
Bergamot, Citrus, Mandarin, Black Gardenia, Jasmine, Ylang-Ylang, Lotus Wood, Orchid, Spicy Floral Accord, Orchid (Tom Ford Black Accord), Patchouli, Sandalwood, Incense, Vanilla.

Fresh Cannabis Santal
Notes:
Bergamot, Brazilian Orange, Black Plum, Patchouli, Cannabis Accord, Rose, Chocolate, Vetiver, Vanilla Musks.

Lolita Lempicka Si Lolita
Notes:
Pink Peppercorns, Bergamot, Mandarin Orange, Wallflower, Sweat Pea, Heliotrope, Elemi Gum, Patchouli, Tonka Bean, Amber.

**it appears Sephora no longer carries this scent online**  Such a bummer because I only have the rollerball!
Leslie Blodgett has captured a perfect Santa Barbara afternoon through scent with this laid-back blend of subtle fruits, soft white flowers and mellow woods. Created exclusively for Sephora, the irresistible aroma has an addictive quality that draws you in, surrounding you with happiness and warmth.

NOTD: OPI Roadhouse Blues (swatches)

I love this blue because it's a dark blue that actually looks blue indoors and outdoors.   A lot of dark blues tend to lean black....this one doesn't!  I love the cream finish!  The application of this was a bit of a pain.  I had trouble keeping it from running off my nails.  It was opaque in 2 coats and it didn't stain my nails much at all.

NOTD: NARS Bad Influence! Swatches/comparisons!

Today's nail of the day (NOTD) is NARS Bad Influence.  I picked this up for $8 at Sephora.com.  It is a 0.5oz bottle of polish.  I am in love with this polish.  There's nothing super special or unique about it, but it just makes me happy to look at.  Sephora.com describes it as a smoky taupe.  Depending on the lighting it looks brownish green or brownish purple.  I love it.  The formula was great!  It was almost opaque in 1 coat.  I applied 2 coats.  It applied flawlessly and without effort!  It has a nice shine and a cream finish.   I have a few other polishes it reminds me of, and I will do a comparison below!  This is my first NARS nail polish and it makes me want to try more, but the regular price of $17 makes me hesitate.  Maybe I'll pick up a few the next time a sale comes around!

NARS Danmari cheek palette!

A cheek palette from NARS?  Yes, please!!  I had to snag this up!  It's an awesome deal at $65 (hurry and get it 20% off during Sephora's friends and family sale until Nov 2nd!).  It comes with the following:

 6 x 0.12 oz Cheek Color in:
  •  Hungry Heart (gold ivory)
  •  Super Orgasm (peachy pink with gold glitter)
  •  Desire (cotton candy pink)
  •  Casino (dark brown with golden shimmer)
  •  Orgasm (peachy pink with golden shimmer)
  •  Sin (berry with gold shimmer)
NARS regular blushes are $27 each and contain 0.16 oz, so this is a tremendous value (even if you have 1 or 2 of the colors already).  Here are some photos!
